We love it so much that we regularly make it in our vegan kitchen.
And it is super easy, with simple tricks you can make this Chickpeas Spread Recipe at home that is so much better than the store-bought hummus! (No kidding!)
What is Hummus or the Chickpeas Spread?
If we are talking about history, Hummus or this Chickpeas Spread originated from ancient Egypt.
It has been said that the earliest mention of Hummus dates back to the early 13th century!
That is already a long long time of eating this Chickpeas Spread.
But nowadays, it is commonly known as a middle-eastern and Mediterranean dish.
But wherever it came from, the most important thing is that we know how to make them!

For this Chickpeas Spread Recipe you will need the following:
- 3 Cups of Cooked Chickpeas
- 1 Cup of Sesame Paste or Tahini
- Pinch of Cumin
- Pinch of Black Pepper
- 1 Teaspoon of Paprika
- 2 Cloves of Garlic
- Half of Lemon
- Extra Virgin Olive oil
- Pinch of Salt
- ½ cup water
Put the chickpeas into the Food Processor
Add the Tahini or the Sesame Paste
Squeeze half of a lemon or depends on your preferences. You may add more later if you desire.
Crushed 2 cloves of garlic and add it into your chickpeas.
Add the spices; cumin, paprika, salt, and crushed black peppers.
Add the Virgin Olive oil and water. Be careful adding your liquid, you do not want your Chickpeas spread to be too watery.
Start blending the ingredients in the food processor. This will take about 1-2 minutes of blending.
You may have to scrape time to time to make sure the chickpeas spread are well blended.
Done. Now you may serve it with fresh toast and some fresh veggies on top.
