HOW TO DO IT
THE RECIPE
INGREDIENTS
- 4 Cups of Flour
- ½ cup or 125grams of Vegan Margarine or Butter
- 1 ½ cups of Coconut Sugar
- 2 Tablespoon of Cinnamon
- ½ teaspoon of Salt
- 5 Medium-sized peaches
INSTRUCTIONS
Crumbles
- In a large bowl, combine together ½ cup of softened Margarine and 1 ½ cup of Sugar and mix it well.
- Next, in a sifter, add 4 cups of flour, 1 tsp of baking soda, and ½ tsp of salt and sift it directly over the margarine mixture.
- Then gently mix it, the best way to do this is to use your hands and make sure that the flours are not sticking together but falling apart and in the end, you should have a nice crumble.
- Now grab your pan of choice and line it with baking paper to prevent the crumbles from sticking to the bottom.
- Add ¾ of the crumbles to the baking pan and push it down together making your crust. You can use the tip of a spatula to evenly press the crumbles.
- The rest of the crumbles will be transferred to a small bowl and put them both in the fridge to add more structure to the crumbles.
- By this time, preheat the oven to 170C or 350F.
Peaches Filling
- Peel off the peaches and cut them into thin slices.
- Once done, in a bowl combine the peaches, ½ coconut sugar, 2 tbsp of Baking Soda, 2 tablespoons of cinnamon.
- Mix it making sure that all the peaches are well covered.
BAKING TIME
- Next, get your crumbles from the fridge, add the peaches into the baking pan. Using a spatula make sure that all the peaches are even.
- Then add some crushed nuts. This is optional but highly suggested because it adds more texture to your cobbler.
- On the top, sprinkle the remaining crumbles covering the peaches.
- Bake it for 30-35 minutes, halfway through add a baking paper on top to cover the crumbles if they are browning or burning too much. This is a case especially for those who are using a gas oven.
- When done, cool it down and add more sliced peaches on top. This is best served with vanilla ice cream.
